Duplicate Bridge Association of Atlanta

Congratulations to two of our pairs who participated in the District 7 North American Pairs Finals in Charlotte, NC on September 21-22.

Bing Tong of Suwanee and Yi Xiong of Lawrenceville finished second in the event and qualified to advance to the National NAP finals in Las Vegas in November.

Rich Overholt and Joe Gallagher finished seventh, but only the top four pairs in both Flight B and Flight C automatically advance to the Finals. Other qualifiers may advance depending upon the number of qualified pairs that are able to attend.

The Hall of Fame is considered the highest honor available to bestow in our organization. The primary intention is to recognize achievements in playing in ACBL sanctioned bridge events. Consideration is also given to level of service and contributions to bridge within the DBAA and to ethics, conduct and sportsmanship. Congratulations to OLIN HUBERT AND LARRY GOULD (Posthumously)

Congratulations to Craig Robinson of Marietta, the DBAA's newest Grand Life Master. He has over 15,000 masterpoints, and he and partner Bob Fendrick won the Leventritt Silver Ribbon Pairs at the 2024 Spring NABC.

The DBAA or Duplicate Bridge Association of Atlanta is the local name for Unit 253 of the ACBL.  Unit 253 is comprised of Cherokee, Cobb, DeKalb, Forsyth, Fulton and Gwinnett counties. The Association is granted some rights and responsibilities from the ACBL, but the primary focus is to promote bridge in the metropolitan Atlanta area.  In that role, the DBAA organizes, promotes, develops, and manages many different bridge activities to benefit the area players and to encourage new players to join our ranks.

The organization is funded by tournament receipts and by a small percentage of our members’ dues.  We are always seeking volunteers to help us with this programming.  Please email: DBAA@DBAA.us,  if you are willing to help.
